In just over 8 months a Pennsylvania paving company generated 457 exclusive paving leads with Service Allies

I cold called a paving company earlier this year to see if they were interested in our lead generation program with Facebook ads. I happened to have really good timing - the owners were thinking about running Facebook ads and, at the time I called, were actually writing out a text to someone else to ask about running them. The timing was incredible and felt like an act of God. The results we were able to generate were also incredible.

In just over 8 months, we generated 457 leads with $9,938.27 in ad spend ($21.74 per lead!). Keep in mind - these are all exclusive leads reaching out to the company directly.

Recently, I talked to the gal responsible for calling all the leads and she told me that they had booked 90% - 95% for sales appointments. Not only had they booked all those sales appointments - but their close rate is 70%! 

Some of these leads were for small ticket items, like seal coating ($400 on average.) Some, however, were large driveway paving projects, reaching up to $14,000. Scenarios for Return on Investment

What kind of ROI can you expect from fence install leads? There are several different factors that can affect how many leads you get, how many turn into sales appointments, and how many sold jobs. That being said, we can use math to make some guesses.

Let’s look at two scenarios that assume your average lead cost is $30 (to date, our average is $23.) Note: these scenarios are not guarantees of any kind.

Scenario 1 

You spend $1500 in ads and get 50 leads. Out of those 50, let’s say you book 50% (25 appointments.) If your close rate is 33%, and average ticket is $10,000, you would sell 8 fence installs for a total of $80,000 in revenue.

Scenario 2

You spend $1000 in ads and get 33 leads. Out of those 33, let’s say you only book 25% (8 appointments.) If your close rate is 25%, and average ticket is $10,000, you would sell 2 fence installs for a total of $20,000 in revenue. Even with these more conservative numbers, your return would be a 20 to 1 revenue-to-ad-spend ratio. 

In addition to the direct leads you get, your ads will get thousands of impressions (views.) On average your ads will get seen by approximately 1000 people for every $30 you spend on Facebook ads.

Fencing Company Advantages

If your company has some or all of these traits, you’ll have a competitive edge. However, we can probably still make it work for you if you don’t.

  • Availability to start new fence installation jobs quickly. Many companies are booked out 3-6 months, so being able to start projects sooner gives you a marketing edge.

How much do you charge?

You will have two separate costs. The first cost is ad spend, which Facebook will bill you directly for. I typically recommend a monthly budget of $1000 - $2000 to start. Since the average lead cost is $50 in ad spend per lead, this should get you roughly between 20-40 leads monthly. If you need more or less, we can adjust advertising spend as you need. The second cost is our agency fees, which are only available on a live demo call.

Are these leads good quality?

In the vast majority of cases, yes. To a large extent, however, the amount of leads you book will depend on the amount of effort you put into following up with them.

How long does it take to start working?

When a new client signs up, we start with an onboarding call, and launch 7 days later. Over the past 5 years I’ve run this lead generation program, I’ve never seen it take longer than 2-3 days after launch to start getting leads.

How many people are you working with in my market?

We only serve one contractor in a local market. Even if you are part of a large metro area, we’ll single out an exclusive zone just for you. We still have a relatively small client base at the time of writing, so there is a good chance your market is still available. However, the sooner you reach out the better.

How many contractors are going to get the leads?

Just you. Facebook ads will be shown under your business name, and all the generated leads will be exclusively yours.

What if I'm not on Facebook or don't have a business page?

No problem. It's fairly simple to set up a Facebook business page, so we can do this for you at no extra charge. Also, don't worry if your current Facebook page doesn't have many likes. It doesn't seem to affect the volume or quality of leads at all.

How do you get the leads?

We get leads by running ads on Facebook. Ads are like Facebook posts, except you pay Facebook to show your ad to a specific local area and demographic. If you currently don’t use Facebook, or don’t have a Facebook page, that is no problem. We’ll set up a page on your behalf to run ads from.
